Your heart's performance, safely under load.
Some heart problems only reveal themselves when the heart is working hard. A stress test monitors your heart rate, blood pressure, and EKG while your heart's workload is safely increased — typically on a treadmill, or with medication if you cannot exercise. Stress testing helps detect coronary artery disease, evaluate chest pain, uncover exercise-induced rhythm problems, and measure safe activity levels after a cardiac event. The entire test is supervised in our office, and Dr. Kalafatic personally reviews every tracing.
Blocked arteries can hide at rest. Stress testing finds the problems that only show up when your heart is challenged — before they become emergencies.
